All Sports Lakes in Bloomfield Michigan

Let's talk about Bloomfield's all sports lakes.  First let me explain what an all sports lake is.....  On an all sports lake you can have just about have any type of boat you want.  Electric motor or gas motor.  Any size.  That is usually determined by the size of the lake you aren't going to have a 35' or 40' boat on any Oakland County lake.  It just doesn't make sense.  Too much boat for the size of the lake.  You can have jet skis or personal water craft on all sports lakes.  You can have sail boats, speed boats, ski boats, jet boats, pontoons, paddle boards, catamarans, and paddle boats on an all sports lake.  You can surf behind the boat.  You can also pull tubers, water skiers, and wake boarders behind a boat on an all sports lake.  You can go fast on an all sport lake up to the speed limit on the lake.  Usually that is 55 mph unless it is Orchard Lake then it is 40 mph.  Of course if there are no wake zones on the all sports lake you have to go slow in that area.

If you are buying a lake house in Oakland County you should know what negatively affects the price.  Of course the normal stuff like high tension wires, house on a main road, or close to a business.  But when buying a lake home parking sometimes comes into play, but the two main issues are type of lake bottom and is there vegetation in the lake.  Sandy bottom homes sell quicker and fetch more money as do lake homes that do not have lily pads or lake grasses in the in front of the house.  However there is no way to put a specific dollar amount on these items.  It just slows the sale and homes that are sandy bottom sometimes get a little more money.

Let's have some fun

There are only 2 all sports lakes in Bloomfield Township and none in Bloomfield Hills.  They are Upper Long Lake and Square Lake.  Neither of Bloomfield's all sports lakes are huge.  In fact neither are over 200 acres, but they are big enough to ski, tube, jet ski, and wake board on.  Many of the lakes in Bloomfield Hills and the township are smaller like Vernor Lake, or Chalmers Lake.

Let's get the boat out!

Square Lake

Here is some information about the lake and the homes on it.  Square Lake in Bloomfield is just west of Telegraph and north of Square Lake Road.  It is only 63 acres in size which makes it a small all sports lake....at least in the eyes of active water sports people.  If you are just going to tow somebody around for 1/2 an hour on the weekend then Square Lake may be good for you.   There won't be a lot of boats on the lake most of the time.   There are some condos on the lake if you are looking for a home without any outside maintenance.

What a beautiful day for boating

Upper Long Lake

If you are looking for a bigger all sports lake and want to live in Bloomfield then Upper Long Lake is really your only choice.  What is great about the lake is that it connects to 3 other lakes.  Lower Long Lake, Dollar (which is really a pond), and Forest Lake.  Lower Long Lake, and Forest Lake are electric motor only lakes.  So if you want to use them you would have to have an electric motor on your boat too.  Many of the lake homes are larger luxury custom built estates.  It is a highly desirable lake to live on.

Kids just love tubing

I hope this gave you enough information about the two all sports lakes in Bloomfield Township.  There are many beautiful homes on these lakes or you may find a lake house on Forest Lake or Wabeek Lakefront Condo If you are looking for a home that gives you the opportunity to jet ski or have a speed boat give me a call.  I can show you other lakes in the area that may fit your and your family's needs.  My cell phone number is (248) 310-6239

I believe lake living is such a different way of life especially if it is on a bigger lake.  Many time you become more social because you are out on the lake or just near the lake.  You are out of your home and have a bigger chance of meeting or talking with neighbors.  Simply being out of the house to look at the lake gets you a little fresh and a relaxing feeling.  If you take advantage of the swimming, or paddling around on the lake it is good for your health too.  There are few extra benefits besides the calm feeling you get when looking out over the lake.  I love living on the lake.  I look back at my life and wonder what I did on the weekends when I didn't live on the lake.  If you would like to make your lake dream come true reach out to me via emial, phone, or text.  My email is yesmyrealtor@gmail.com
