Bloomfield Lake West Bloomfield MI – Lake homes for sale Bloomfield Lake West Bloomfield MI

Come home to the lake!

There is a West Bloomfield Lake and a Bloomfield Lake in West Bloomfield.  Bloomfield Lake is just south of Lone Pine between Orchard Lake and Middlebelt Road.  The lake is very close to Lone Pine so there are lakefront homes that have the address of Lone Pine.

The lake itself is more of a pond that is in a bowl.  It is hard to see the lake from the street.  For that reason I do not have a great picture of the lake.  Last time I was there showing houses it was a gloomy day and was not good for pictures.  There are about 31 or 32 houses on the lake.

What a beautiful fall day

The homes on the lake:

  • range from 2300 square feet to over 5200 square feet.
  • 3 to 6 bedrooms
  • 2 to 5 1/2 bathrooms
  • built mainly from 1969 to late 1970’s  though there is at least one that was built in 1990
  • many of the homes are colonials though there are some ranch and contemporary style home
  • mainly 2 car garages though there are a few 3 and 3+ car garage
  • all of the homes on the lake have basements

We will find you a lake home that fits you and your families needs

I live on a lake so I understand lake living

Many of Oakland County’s large prestigious all sports lakes are located within the boundaries of West Bloomfield.  Home to 35 named lakes, lake home owners enjoy an active and fulfilling lake lifestyle. With an abundance of large and small lakes in the area, lakefront homes are extremely sought after. You will find both average homes and larger lake estates.  Many high demographic residents live in luxury custom built lakefront estates on West Bloomfield’s all sports lakes.  You will even find condos on some of the lakes.  West Bloomfield has become highly desirable place to live because of the good schools, low crime, and short commute times.  You will find that you have a wide variety of waterfront properties to choose from on West Bloomfield's Lakes.  Below are some considerations to think about before you buy.

  • Why do you want to buy a lake home?   So many clients remark later that they wish they had done it sooner.  It is a path to  building stronger family relation ships and nurturing friendships. They always say “you never know how many friends you have until you have a lake house.”  I always say you become more social when you buy a lake home.
  • Time.  In Oakland County many of the homes have longer drive times because of the way the roads curve around the lakes.  Many of them are just two lane roads that become congested at rush hour.  Are you going to use the home as a weekend getaway or year round home?  Will you rent it?  Could you run out to the lake after work? This may help you map your area where you would consider purchasing.
  • Maintenance. Lake living is all about being on the lake.  Not working on the house, or taking care of the yard on the weekends.  That is for subdivision dwellers.   Look into lawn maintenance and cleaning services. Having things done at the lake will free up your time to have more time on the lake.  Have the dock put in or taken out.  Have the boat winterized.  If you can afford it have it done so you can spend more time with family and friends.
