I have no pictures of Dollar Lake in Bloomfield Township. It is just a small lake that I would call more of a pond that connects to Lower Long Lake. So you have the quiet, calm of a small lake yet the full use of Lower Long Lake, Forest Lake, and Upper Long Lake. So you could have a pontoon boat that has a gas motor on it and use your electric motor to get from Dollar Lake through Lower Long Lake to tube or ski on Upper Long Lake. You have the best of both worlds and 4 lakes to enjoy. Dollar Lake is located west of Franklin Rd and north of W Long Lake Road.
There are only 6 waterfront homes on Dollar Lake. The homes are all on sewer and municipal water. All the roads around the lake are paved. The children on the lake go to Bloomfield Hills schools. The lake lies entirely in Bloomfield Township. The lakefront homes on Dollar Lake in Bloomfield sit on .73 acres to over 2.31 acres in size.
Here are what lake homes on Dollar Lake in Bloomfield are like:
* 4 to 6 bedrooms
* 3 to 8 bathrooms
* Built during the years of 1954 to 1979
* 2 to 4 car garages
* The waterfront homes range in size from 2800 to over 5348 square foot

All of the information above was gathered from sold listings on the MLS over the last 20 years. Some homes on the lake may not have been sold during this period so this home information may be off because one of the homes that has not sold may be bigger, small, older, or have different features. Some of the smaller lakefront homes may have been torn down and do not exist anymore. Also a new house may have been built on the lake that does not show up. This house information is just to give you a general idea of the houses on the lake.

If you like history Turtle Lake in Bloomfield Twp MI has an interesting background. It has been an estate for wealthy owners before it became a planned community. Now it is a gated subdivision. There are homes on Cass Lake in Oakland County that are in a gated subdivision. They are not on the West Bloomfield side of Cass Lake, but on the Waterford side of the lake. Many of the homes are on canals that lead out to the lake.
Just my thoughts

Is Vernor Lake in Bloomfield Michigan named after the inventor of the pop? Or did he live on the lake or have a cottage on the lake? I don't know the answers to these questions yet, but I hope to find out. If you know email me at yesmyrealtor@gmail.com
Lake homes are very hard to price or to give a value to sometimes. I have at least one appraiser a month call me to talk about a lake or a lake home that I sold. If they have problems how do buyers know what a lake home is worth? The issue is that there are many factors about lake houses that you cannot put a specific price on. For example.....how much is a sandy lake bottom worth? Or how much is the sunset view or beautiful lake view worth? Or how much more is a home worth if you want a home on a specific lake? Or how much more is 30' more of lake frontage is worth?
No appraiser or real estate agent has a specific dollar amount for any of these items. Sometimes buyers absolutely have to buy on a certain lake because they have friends or family on the lake. I have seen homes sell for way more than they should have for that reason. Sometimes the person just want to upgrade and stay on the lake. They maybe waiting for 5 years and then the one house they want comes up for sale. They will pay the price for that home and snap it up. Even though it may be too expensive compared to what has sold on the lake. That happens quite often.
Lake homes can't be put in an excel spread sheet and compared to other lake homes. They have too many variables. Even walk out basements vary. Sometimes we count the square footage. It all depends on whether it is good usable square footage. A house on a point is going to fetch more money sometimes than a home right next door. View, lake frontage, lake bottom, walk out basements are all variables. That is why you need a lake real estate agent that knows our local lakes to help you. A non lake realtor is going to cost you money and maybe even cost you the lake house you want. You want the experienced lake realtor.
