I couldn’t get great pictures of the lake because I was taking them from the natural side of the lake. Hidden Lake in Bloomfield is located just north of Lone Pine Road and west of Telegraph. The lake is just south of the Bloomfield Hills city complex. A lot of the lake is natural. Full of tall grass, scrub trees, natural vegetation, and wildlife. It’s a decent size lake. Bigger than many of the small Bloomfield lakes that are really ponds. I would estimate the lake to be between 20 and 28 acres in size. Not big enough for an all sports lake but big enough to have fun paddling around on.
There are not many lakefront homes on Hidden Lake in Bloomfield Hills. There are some homes that overlook the lake on a bluff on Copperwood Street. These homes do not have lake frontage. I count about 19 actual lake homes that have frontage. They lie on Hidden Lake Dr, Kiftsgate Bend, and Norminister End. For some reason a few people think the lake is called Norminister Lake. So sometimes you will hear Hidden Lake in Bloomfield called Norminster Lake. The true name of the lake is Hidden Lake. The homes on Norminster Bend and Kiftsgate Bend are part of the Hills of Lone Pine subdivision. It is an exclusive high end gated subdivison. Some of the community features include a 24 hour manned gate house, tennis courts, club house, and pool. The other lake in the Hills of Lone Pine is Minnow Lake.
Hidden Lake homes are on city water and sewer. The roads around the lake are all paved. The children that live on the lake go to Bloomfield Hills school district. Home styles are ranch and contemporary homes. Some of the homes are site condos which means the lots are not huge, but there are homes on the lake that the lots range from 1 to 3 acres. There are quite a few luxury estate homes on the lake.
The basic characteristic of homes on Hidden Lake are:
- Built during the years 1984 to 1995
- 2 to 12 bathrooms
- 3 to 7 car garages
- 3 to 6 bedrooms
- Size ranges from 2200 square feet to over 1100 square feet
- All of the homes have basements and most of them are walkouts
All of the information above was gathered from sold listings on the MLS over the last 20 years. Some homes on the lake may not have been sold during this period so this home information may be off because one of the homes that has not sold may be bigger, small, older, or have different features. Some of the smaller lakefront homes may have been torn down and do not exist anymore. Also a new house may have been built on the lake that does not show up. This house information is just to give you a general idea of the houses on the lake.

Hammond Lake homes in Bloomfield Township are very close to Telegraph and Orchard Lake Road. This is nice because it makes commuting to work a little easier. From Telegraph you can get to I-75 or I-96 relatively easier.
Below I have listed four smaller lakes in the Bloomfield an West Bloomfield area. These lakes are small, some pond like. Good for paddling around on and maybe a little fishing. I don't know the depths of many of them so I don't even know if they are good for swimming. You can find more information on these lakes by clicking on the link
