Cross Lake West Bloomfield – Lake Homes Cross Lake West Bloomfield MI

Cross Lake is located just south of Cooley Lake and east of Union Lake Road.  I would call Cross Lake in West Bloomfield a small lake.    It is about 7 acres in size and is a private lake.  I believe it is an non all sports lake.  Even if it was an all sports lake it is too small to do anything.  You would just be going round and round in a circle on a jet ski.  If you had a power boat you would have to keep the wheel turned to keep going in a circle.  The lake is just not big enough to do anything.

This home is not for sale just an example of the nice homes on the lake

The north end  and south end of the lake is natural.  The lake edge on that part of the lake is swampy with tall grass, cattails, lily pads and scrub trees.  All the roads around the lake are paved.

There are some nice lakefront homes on the lake.  They are not huge home, I would call them normal run of the mill homes.  No real small lake cottages either on the lake.  Most of the homes on the lake are year round homes.  There are about 17 homes on the lake.  There are quite a few vacant lots on the lake but I do not know if they are buildable because of the size of the lake properties, the set backs required by the city, and the wetland restrictions.

The natural part of the lake

Most of the homes are on city water though there are a few that are still on well water.  The majority of the lakefront homes on Cross Lake in West Bloomfield are on sewers though a few have septic systems.  The children on the lake go to West Bloomfield or Waterford Schools depending on where the house is on the lake.

The homes on the lake were built between the years of 1955 and 1990.  The homes have 1 -5 bathrooms, 2-5 bedrooms.  The majority of the homes have 2 car garages, but there are a couple of homes that have 3 car or 3+ car garages.  The homes range in size from 1400 square feet to over 4400 square feet.  Though the majority of homes are under 2600 square feet.  Some of the homes are on crawl spaces, some on slab, and some have basements.  Some of the basements are walkout basement.  The majority of the home styles are ranch, colonial, and split level homes.

The lakefront home data above is not perfect. I researched all this home information from 20 years of MLS listings that have been sold.  So there are some condos or homes that have not been sold in the last 20 years that I have no information on.  There may be bigger or smaller homes out there.  This is just to give you an idea of what some of the waterfront homes and condominiums are like.

Kirkwood Lake in Bloomfield is an interesting shaped lake because it is like circle lake, but with a large peninsula in the center that is shaped like a crooked finger.  It is a private non all sports lake that is about 7 acres in size.  You may want a Brookfield Lake home in West Bloomfield MI or a lake home on Heather Lake in Bloomfield.  They are both smaller lakes.  Whatever size lake you want in the area there is one for you and your family.  You will love lake living once you move!

I believe lake living is such a different way of life especially if it is on a bigger lake.  Many time you become more social because you are out on the lake or just near the lake.  You are out of your home and have a bigger chance of meeting or talking with neighbors.  Simply being out of the house to look at the lake gets you a little fresh and a relaxing feeling.  If you take advantage of the swimming, or paddling around on the lake it is good for your health too.  There are few extra benefits besides the calm feeling you get when looking out over the lake.  I love living on the lake.  I look back at my life and wonder what I did on the weekends when I didn't live on the lake.  If you would like to make your lake dream come true reach out to me via emial, phone, or text.  My email is yesmyrealtor@gmail.com
