Darb Lake is an electric motor only lake. It is a private non all sports lake that is about 16 acres in size. The lake is nestled on one side in a West Bloomfield’s nice subdivision. The lake is spring fed.
Just a small lake but a nice lake
The homes have 3-5 bathrooms, 3 to 5 bedrooms, 2 to 3 car garages. Most of the homes on the lake have brick exteriors, basements, and attached garages. The homes were built between 1971 and 1995. The lake home styles are cape cod, colonials, and contemporary homes. The homes range in size 2300 to over 4700 square feet. Many of the basements are walkout basements. Many of the lots are normal subdivision lots but there are a couple of homes that sit on one and two acres.
The lakefront home data above is not perfect. I researched all this home information from 20 years of MLS listings that have been sold. So there are some condos or homes that have not been sold in the last 20 years that I have no information on. There may be bigger or smaller homes out there. This is just to give you an idea of what some of the waterfront homes and condominiums are like.

The school district for the lake is West Bloomfield schools. The roads around the lake in the sub are all paved. The lakefront homes on Darb Lake in West Bloomfield are on city water and sewer. No worries about adding salt for well water or ruining your septic field.
Ready to go kayaking
Much of the lake is rustic. Most of the homes on Darb Lake sit back off the lake and their property does not go down to the lake. All of the homes in Mission Springs subdivision do not have lakefront property per se. They do not own to the lake. On the opposite side of Mission Springs subdivision there are about 5 homes that are actually lakefront and own up to the lake.

Square Lake condos in Bloomfield MI are one of the few all sports lakes in Bloomfield. It is hard to find condominiums on a lake. If you do then you have to be sure you have docking privileges too. Homes on Brookfield Lake in West Bloomfield are on another small lake. There are probably more small lakes in West Bloomfield than there are large ones, but sometimes the small lakes can be more appealing to lake home buyers because of the peace and tranquility. Meadow Lake homes in Bloomfield MI range from average size homes (2000 square foot) to over 6900 square foot.
Bloomfield Township lakes in Michigan are one the smaller size. You are not going to find big all sports lakes. Many of them are really large ponds good only for paddling around on and sometimes fishing and swimming on. This is why this website is so important. It saves you time and trouble of going to a lake that isn't right for you.
Living on the water has more benefits than it's natural beauty. It can provide health benefits that soothe the soul and offer peace and tranquility. Professors and universities have conducted research regarding our personal and emotional relationship with water, dubbing the result "Blue Mind". Water tends to draw the soul and body toward it, relieving much of our daily stress. I don't know if it because when we take vacations it is to warmer climates or to lakes, oceans, and streams.
