Orange Lake Bloomfield – Lake Homes Orange Lake Bloomfield Michigan

Orange Lake in Bloomfield Township is truly a small lake.  Larger than many of the ponds that are called lakes in the township.  The lake is approximately 33 acres.  It is a private non all sports lake.  It's not super deep with the deepest point of 10.5 feet.  The average depth is only 2.9 feet deep.  They estimate that there is about 32 million gallons of water in the lake.  The lake flows out to be a small tributary of the Rouge River.  Lahser High School lies on the south side of the lake.

Let's get the boat in the water

The school district for the lake is Bloomfield Hills.  The homes on the lake are on city water and sewer.  The roads around the lake are paved.  The lake is located south of Hickory Grove and west of Lahser Road in Bloomfield Township.  I have seen a few sunset photos of the lake and they were absolutely stunning.  With the lake being so small it is just too small to have a power boat on.

These are just examples of the beautiful homes on the lake. Not for sale

Of course this information above is not perfect.  I gathered this home information from sold listings the last 20 years.  Some people have lived on the lake for longer than 20 years so I have no information on their homes.  This compilation may be off because one of the homes that has not sold may be bigger, small, older, or have different features.  Some of the smaller lakefront homes may have been torn down and do not exist anymore.  Also a new house may have been built on the lake that does not show up.  The house information is just to give you a general idea of the lake homes.

What a way to relax after a long day at work

Bloomfield Township is an urban community that straddles Telegraph Road.  The homes in the township are well-manicured and many times larger lots than some of the other Oakland County communities.  Bloomfield Township is characterized by rolling hills, winding roads, scenic lakes and streams.  There are only two all sports lakes in the township and all of them are private lakes.  Lake home owners use the lakes for a number of recreational pursuits, including bird watching, swimming, fishing, and boating if the lake is big enough.

Living on the water has more benefits than it's natural beauty. It can provide health benefits that soothe the soul and offer peace and tranquility.  Professors and universities have conducted research regarding our personal and emotional relationship with water, dubbing the result "Blue Mind". Water tends to draw the soul and body toward it, relieving much of our daily stress.  I don't know if it because when we take vacations it is to warmer climates or to lakes, oceans, and streams.  So many people go to water on vacation or for the weekend.  Happiness from those memories may make all water your happy place.
