Sunrise on Union Lake in W Bloomfield MI
Have you been searching for that perfect lakefront home on Union Lake in West Bloomfield? If you have been looking on Union Lake you may know that it has a sandbar where many people gather to relax and talk with other people on the lake. There is also a nice restaurant on the lake called Matter of Taste. Good food, a little more upscale type of restaurant. Not a burger bar or pizza joint. I would highly recommend you to stop in whether you are on the lake or off.

Union Lake is a public 465 acre all sports lake that does have a DNR public boat launch on Union Lake Road. The lake is in the northwest corner of the township. A small part of the lake and a few homes lie in Commerce Township. It is a glacial formed lake and the deepest hole is about 110 feet deep. There is plenty of room to sail, fish, jet ski, kayak, or wakeboard. It is one of Oakland County’s premier lakes. You will find quite a few million dollar plus homes on the lake.
If you look at the list of lake properties for sale below you will notice that there is a small home that is basically selling for a big price simply because it is a 100′ lot. Somebody will tear the house down and build a million dollar plus home. Wealthy clients are still looking for wide lots with great views and sandy bottoms. You will find it is almost impossible to find any home on Union Lake under $400,000 in 2018. You are going to find the majority of homes in the $600,000 to 1.2 million dollars on the lake. Even the small old lake cottages are fetching good prices.
This is probably not the lake to chose if you are looking for a weekend cottage. I would say the majority of lake home owners are year round.
