I cannot find the size or depth of Wood Lake in Bloomfield Township on the internet or in township records. It is just a small lake. They say Vhay Lake is 14 acres so I would guesstimate Wood Lake to be about 9 to 10 acres in size. Many of the home sit above the lake giving home owners and guest beautiful views of the lake. The lake views are always stunning when you are up higher. The lake is located south of E Long Lake Road and west of Squirrel Road. It is a private non all sports lake. Some people will call it Crescent Lake and others will call it Wood Lake.
The homes are on municipal water and septic systems. No homes that I know of are on sewers. The roads around the lake are paved. The school district for the lake is Bloomfield Hills Schools. The homes sit on lots that range from just under an acre to a little over 2 acres. They are decent size lots and many of them gently slope down to the lake.
There are about 14 homes on the lake. Here are the basic characteristics of the lakefront homes on Wood Lake in Bloomfield:
* 3 to 9 Bedrooms
* 3 to 11 Bathrooms
* 2800 Square feet to over 8900 square feet
* 3 to 4 Car Garages
* Built during the years of 1925 to 1993
* The homes have basements
* There are ranches, split level, contemporary, and tudor homes on the lake
Of course this information above is not perfect. I gathered this home information from sold listings the last 20 years. Some people have lived on the lake for longer than 20 years so I have no information on their homes. This compilation may be off because one of the homes that has not sold may be bigger, small, older, or have different features. Some of the smaller lakefront homes may have been torn down and do not exist anymore. Also a new house may have been built on the lake that does not show up. The house information is just to give you a general idea of the lake homes.
Bloomfield Township is an urban community that straddles Telegraph Road. The homes in the township are well-manicured and many times larger lots than some of the other Oakland County communities. Bloomfield Township is characterized by rolling hills, winding roads, scenic lakes and streams. There are only two all sports lakes in the township and all of them are private lakes. Lake home owners use the lakes for a number of recreational pursuits, including bird watching, swimming, fishing, and boating if the lake is big enough. Here is a lake in the township that you may not know about.
Wood Lake is another nice lake in Bloomfield Township. Like so many of Bloomfield's lakes you will find the space you need. That is a common element of most of the lakes in Bloomfield.....large lots. If you need a good realtor that will watch out for you and work hard for you give me a call. I know the lakes. (248) 310-6239

When buying a lake home it is important to know whether your property goes up to the lake or if an association, or subdivision owns the lake frontage. There are quite a few lakes that homes that have this situation. I suggest to you as a home buyer to get a survey done. If you can afford a staked survey I would do that to make sure you know your lot lines and corners of the property. It may cost anywhere from $800 to $2000 depending on the property. On any property over $500,000 I think it is a small insurance policy that you should not do without.
