Forest Lake in Bloomfield Township is a private non all sports lake that connects to Lower Long Lake (non all sports lake) and Upper Long Lake (all sports). They are all private lakes. Many home owners love that Forest Lake is quiet, yet they have the option to do water sports and have a jet ski on Upper Long Lake. Many home owners have two motors on their pontoon boat. One gas for Upper Long Lake and an electric motor for Forest and Lower Long Lake. You have the best of both worlds!
A small island on the lake
Forest Lake is a private 50 acre lake that is about 22 feet deep. The shoreline is about a mile lone. Turtle Lake and Lower Long Lake flow into the lake. There are about 45 homes/lots on the lake. There are many little islands like the one you see above. I counted about 14 of them and then there is one big island. It really has a canal around it, so the island doesn't sit out in the middle of the lake. Forest Lake Country Club also has land on the lake. It sits on the Northeast side of the lake.

The lakefront homes have municipal water and sewer. The lake lies totally in Bloomfield Township. The children go to Bloomfield Hills school district. The roads around the lake are paved. Most of the homes sit on lots ranging from 1/2 acre to 1 1/2. Though there are some as small as 3/10ths of an acre and up to 5 acres. Some Forest Lake homes have estate size lots that give you some privacy.
Great fishing on the lake
Here are the basic characteristics of the lakefront homes on Forest Lake in Bloomfield Michigan:
* Homes were built between the years of 1950 and 2012
* 2 to 9 bathrooms
* 3 to 6 bedrooms
* 2 to 4 car garages
* 1300 square foot homes to over 7300 square foot homes
There are still a few small homes on the lake but as the years go on I will bet they will be torn down to build a bigger and newer home. This will happen because lake homes are in high demand in Bloomfield and in Oakland County. The small homes are no longer what home buyers want. So eventually all the small lake houses will be gone. Most of the homes on the lake are custom built luxury homes with all the latest amenities.
All of the information above was gathered from sold listings on the MLS over the last 20 years. Some Forest Lake homes may not have been sold during this period so this home information may be off because one of the homes that has not sold may be bigger, small, older, or have different features. Some of the smaller lakefront homes may have been torn down and do not exist anymore. Also a new house may have been built on the lake that does not show up. This house information is just to give you a general idea of the houses on the lake.

Bloomfield Township is an urban community that straddles Telegraph Road. The homes in the township are well-manicured and many times larger lots than some of the other Oakland County communities. Bloomfield Township is characterized by rolling hills, winding roads, scenic lakes and streams. There are only two all sports lakes in the township and all of them are private lakes. Lake home owners use the lakes for a number of recreational pursuits, including bird watching, swimming, fishing, and boating if the lake is big enough. There is one chain of lakes in the township and Forest Lake is on the chain.
