The beginnings of Turtle Lake

A rich family used to own 315 acres of land in Oakland County. It was then known as Turtle Lake Farms. It included a 211-acre parcel referred to as “The Homestead.”

Turtle Lake Farms was then bequeathed to the Cathedral of St. Paul and the Episcopal Diocese. The property was sold to a prominent developer in 1983, who renovated the existing buildings.

In 2000, David V. Johnson purchased the property. Mr. Johnson is an internationally respected as an entrepreneur. He is a luxury community and resort developer committed to creating unique living and working environments that exist in ecological harmony with the land.

Originally approved for 277 home sites, Johnson reduced the density and created 101 homes sites, which eventually became the impressive Turtle Lake community.

There are only 2 All sports lakes in Bloomfield MI.  They are Square Lake and Upper Long Lake.  They lie in Bloomfield Township and I would call them small all sports lake.  Endicott Lake homes in Bloomfield MI are more million dollar homes.  They are what I would call luxury estate homes.  Homes that sit on larger lots.  Houses for sale on Vhay Lake Bloomfield are on the similar scale.  Same type of luxury homes.

Middle Straits Lake in West Bloomfield is a great lake to live on.  It has all sorts of different styles, and sizes of homes.  You will still find some older lake cottages.  Some small cottages that have been added onto and remodeled.  Of course you will find newer homes too.

I like the lake and the Waterfront homes for sale on Shorewood Lake Bloomfield MI.  It is a scenic lake.  Not very wide, but long and winding.  The subdivision has large mature trees too.  I think you will like the lake homes too.

Mirror Lake in West Bloomfield is just a small lake that has about 40 condos on the lake.  It has a nice lawn area and a gazebo down the lake too.
